The Cape Coral Yacht Club is one of the oldest amenities in Cape Coral. With a fantastic location in the southwest region of the city of Cape Coral with access to the Caloosahatchee River, the yacht club offers great amenities to the public.
The park is pet-friendly with many visitors and residents bringing their animals along for the nice walk around the sandy beach, community pool and grassy regions. However, animals are not allowed on the pier.
At the entrance of the pier sits The Boat House Tiki Bar & Grill, which offers great food and even better drinks. You can occasionally run into live music while visiting the restaurant. There is also beach access from the Boat House as well.
The park offers covered picnic areas for you to enjoy the view and water access under some shade. One of my favorite drinks to avoid dehydration is the Propel Watermelon water. Delicious!
A few cool things about the Yacht club is, it offers public bathrooms, outdoor shower, community pool with gated kiddy area, playground, BBQ grills, fishing pier, racquetball courts, boat ramp and handicap accessibility to restaurants, pier and even a beach wheelchair.
Being a Doctor of Physical Therapy with personal experience with back pain and difficulty walking, I love the fact that the yacht club offers handicap services.
Bathrooms are located perfectly on the sandy beach.
Being from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, I am spoiled when it comes to crystal clear waters; moreover, the river water is darker than expected.
Due to its brackish waters (River water mixing with the salt water from the Gulf of Mexico), the water is not the most beautiful. But watch for the lovely creatures that enjoy brackish water, such as manatees and dolphins.
The accessible and proximity the Cape Coral Yacht Club offers is absolutely lovely. My AirBnb is just a 5 minute drive to the yacht club, in which it is fairly easy to get a toddler back home without too much of a fight.
On June 22, 2022, I decided to celebrate my 33rd Birthday with my daughter at the Cape Coral Yacht Club. While parking by the water was packed, I decided to park on the west side of the yacht club near the grassy park area. It provided a great opportunity to enjoy lunch with my daughter away from the crowd.
With clear-skies and dolphins passing by (sorry I was unable to snap a picture of the dolphins in time), my daughter and I relished in the beautiful sun as we listened to Salsa music playing. Such a beautiful stress-free birthday!
Enjoy the beauty of Cape Coral by visiting the yacht club before construction begins! Construction is currently deferred until permit approval*
